During 2017, the Idaho Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics will be highlighting our members and what they do as the ‘Nutrition Experts’ for our great state of Idaho. Today we are recognizing:
Char Byington MEd, RDN, LD
Clinical Assistant Professor at Idaho State University
As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, what do you do?
I am a Clinical Assistant Professor at Idaho State University and the Dietetic Internship Director. I teach the Introductory Foods, Meal Management, and Nutrition classes, coordinate the Pocatello/Twin Falls internship and direct the overall internship program – with lots of help from fellow program faculty, especially Ruth Schneider in Meridian!
What are the benefits you have seen from your services in the Idaho community?
The benefits of the program are that when interns successfully finish their rotations, they are eligible to sit for the national exam and once they have passed the exam they can apply for a state license. I think the best benefit is watching the careers of the dietitians who come out of our program thrive and impact people all over Idaho and other states where they practice.
How can someone reach you to access your services?
Thank you Char for all that you do for our great state of Idaho!
