During 2017, the Idaho Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics will be highlighting our members and what they do as the ‘Nutrition Experts’ for our great state of Idaho. Today we are recognizing:
Anne Brock, RDN, LD
Caldwell, Idaho
As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, what do you do?
I am an Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Licensed Dietitian (LD) at West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, Idaho. As an Outpatient Dietitian working to get her CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator), I provide education on a large spectrum of topics. Main topics include: diabetes, weight loss, lap band/bariatric nutrition, cardiac health, and healthy eating in pediatrics. I partner with one of our physicians in discussing a plant-based diet. Monthly I contribute to the West Valley Nutrition Blog to provide a healthy recipe and/or general nutrition tips.
What are the benefits you have seen from your services in the Idaho community?
The benefit I see the most from my program is seeing community members who are newly diagnosed or struggling with diabetes gain control and improve their health by understanding the power of nutrition as well as exercise, monitoring, and proper medication use. I love when I can help clients get excited about nutrition and motivated about their health.
How can someone reach you to access your services?
To learn more about my services provided, please visit the West Valley Nutrition Services webpage or contact me at (208) 402-0636. To schedule an appointment I do need a signed referral from a primary care provider and need it faxed to (208) 402-0124.
Thank you Anne for all that you do for our great state of Idaho!
