As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, what do you do?
I am the Family and Consumer Sciences Faculty at University of Idaho Extension in Bannock county, Idaho. My teaching focus is health, nutrition, food safety and 4-H youth development. I administer the Eat Smart Idaho programming to persons with low resources in nine eastern Idaho counties.
What are the benefits you have seen from your services in the Idaho community?
Community members in Bannock county have opportunity to take classes in cooking, food preservation, diabetes management, and many other options. Persons with low resources are able to have trained nutrition advisers teach them the basics of nutrition, food safety and physical activity. 4-H youth receive opportunities to learn Healthy Lifestyle living techniques.
